Title: 69 Boss 9 trunk mat
Post by: 22BaseballBoss on March 23, 2021, 04:00:42 PM
I am installing a trunk mat in a 69 Boss 9, i got it from NPD/Auto Custom Carpet. I believe it is the correct one, NPD item# TMB-5S. it has no cutouts for the inflator bottle bracket and the taillight housing protector. NPD`s description says they were cut at Kar Kraft with a knife. Would someone know if the hole for the inflator bracket is cut so that the bracket has to be removed in order to remove the mat? Or is the mat slit somewhere in order to remove the mat without having to remove the bracket?
Thank you for any help you can give.

Welcome to the site. Hope you find the support and information helpful in your restoration focused projects and endeavours

Thanks for the quick response. My ideas on how the mat was cut were way off. Seems as though the entire section that goes over the left side trunk floor gets cut off, and not around anything that`s already there. That sure makes it easier. Thank you so much!

One more quick question. Would you have a pic of the right side trunk floor that shows where the grommet for the battery vent tube exits. Trunk floor was replaced and forgot to document it. Thanks again.

Spare tires were on the driver's side of the trunk?  Or only for Boss cars?? Or am I misinterpreting the photos.

They didn't cut the mat down they folded it under on the spare side on Boss 429's

Correct 69 boss 429 BUT 70 b9s were cut out around the SS brackets and used a longer J  bolt so the jack could mount on top of rim unlike 69 jack under rim and shorter j bolt used.
