Agree, any car built specifically by Ford for drag racing would have been radically different than any base build.

I'm not sure people appreciate the white interior. A lot of race cars are painted Dove Gray on the inside. The amount of light this offers inside is exceptional. When working in the pits on setting up belts, wiring issues, plumbing, etc this helps you get things done quickly without having to drag out flashlights. I owned a race car with a black interior and it sucked. Dropped screws -- lost forever.

Here is a plumbing setup shot of a 65 using just shop lights.
Plus, I can talk about race cars all day long!

Bill: And you still have a spousal unit? lol  I agree.  I think it was the SAAC forum where this emerged initially.  It was quickly put to bed. Just how he claimed Shelby responded was enough. Shelby didn't even recall much about "exercising" the Super Snake when questioned about it. Shelby was a frontman/salesman.  He handled promotion and left the details primarily to staff.

We're both "makers" (not in love with that term, but ... ) so she gets it.
For her birthday she wanted a new Makita drill and impact driver!
