Thanks Bob. I can confirm that the unfinished cap in the previous attachment was zinc dichromate (gold) on the bottom side. Most of that disappeared after soaking in evaporust and I ended up removing the remainder manually. For what it's worth (things get changed and moved around) is was on a late 67 SJ Mustang.
