Trying to confirm (or bust) my research again. Multiple sources such as the MPC, Mustangtek, various books, etc. have led me to believe that for '68 S-code cars, only cars with A/C had fan shrouds. I'm a bit skeptical about this conclusion, so - am I wrong? If all S-codes did not have shrouds, what were the determining combinations? Just A/C? Did GT-vs-non-GT make a difference?

Yes ,the S code 68 Mustang had a fan shroud regardless of A/C or not.

Are you confusing the fan shroud with hood seal? A rubber hood seal was commonly installed on top of the radiator core support on cars installed with A/C.
As far as I know, most S codes came with 24 inch radiators in 1968, and they would have come from the factory with a fan shroud. With or without air conditioning. I believe that base model S codes with manual transmission without A/C, likely got 20 inch radiators.

The Big blocks got the larger radiators regardless of A/C or not . They also used the same shroud.

No, my car has the rubber seal on the radiator support. It is a non-A/C car with a C6. The original engine, trans and radiator are long gone. The only remnants are the lower radiator brackets ;)
