Was it possible to buy a 65 Mustang with c code engine and with 13 inch 5 lugs wheels on?
If, how come?
-
I'm almost POSITIVE that all 13" rims had 4 lugs. Never seen a set with 5 holes.
-
Does anybody else know anything about 13 inch rims on an early V8 Mustang ?
-
I have seen some 13" rims on a few very early V8 Mustangs that were 5 lug-there are also original and reproduction wheel covers on the market to prove this-I'm not sure however when Ford switched to the more popular 14"
-
Have seen the 13" V8 wheels but thought they were phased out before the C code cars started being assembled
-
I knew of a 260 64.5 that had 13 wheels, however I do not know what became of the car or if it was 4 or 5 lug, always had the 13 inch spinner hubcaps on it.
-
I have just known some 64.5's with 13" 5 lug wheels, 260 V8's
-
i have 7 13" 5 lug rims. 260 v-8 and some D-code had them I would guess they phrased them out by the end of 64 it is away cool to see them. but like Mustang II's no good tires out there for sell ,

Pre-production Mustang #1 has a 260v8 with 14 inch rims and still has its original spare tire mounted on a 14" rim (5 lugs). Bob Fria's #2 which is a six-banger 170ci has 13inch rims (4lugs). The early production 260v8 cars that came with 13" rims and 5 lug wheels were definately early falcon carryovers to the mustang. I don't even think that the fairlane ever sat on 13 inch rims...Only the falcon.
The old rule always applies....Ford used up whatever they had in stock.. The assembly line never stops..
A great question though...
