Title: Parts ID ?
Post by: Brian Conway on May 02, 2015, 10:28:41 PM
Have some parts here I need a little help with;   is this wheel cover a mustang part ?  It is a 14".  Have a distributor C5AF 12127-N 5EC.  I am not familiar with that date stamp ?  OE radiator ?  on the tank top W-MO 1 65 and C4ZE Z2.  No stamping on the straps.  Thanks Brian

It looks like the wheel cover is C3OZ-1130-K for a 65 Falcon.
The distributor is a standard 289 2V used on almost every Ford with a C4 in 1965 and 66 (except smog). The date code is 1965 May third week.
If the top straps have a round end, it's a San Jose Moline radiator, made January 1965. A picture would help.

The wheel cover was available as an option for most Ford's around 1964-65, most common on the earlier cars.  They're a much nicer looking wire cover than the later blue center.

"They're a much nicer looking wire cover than the later blue center."

Funny, I happen to like the later Blue Center ones better..  I think the Earlier Falcon Wire Wheel  cap looks too "clutterred" and too busy looking.  It's a matter of opinion I guess.

Here's a nice comparison between the '64 1/2 Falcon Wire Wheel cap next to a '64 1/2 Mustang Cap....Though they were both used on the '64 1/2 Mustang.  The '64 1/2 Mustang Cap later had the heavier bigger Spinner replaced with the smaller Blue one for regular '65-'66 Production.

Thanks for the help.  The radiator has the rounded top straps.   Does the  ' Z 2 ' stamping have any meaning ?  The wheel covers were an option and used on early Mustangs.  The distributor is nothing of note other than an OE unit.  Brian

The radiator is a San Jose Moline made, I think the "Z" means Mustang. The "2" I don't know.

Got another one to look at.  Battery ground cable and I can't seem to find any info on it.  I realize the picture title says FOR SALE.  Not the case that is just where I file these pictures.  Thanks,  Brian

The Z2 radiator is for a V8 automatic application.
