Title: 69 Reproduction Windlace
Post by: Stangly on June 13, 2015, 11:12:38 PM
Looking for any advice on manufactures of reproduction windlace.  My car has the light blue interior (2B) I have one of the quarter trim pieces to use for color match.  I have the old windlace but it is really worn.  I order the quarter trim pieces and windlace from NPD.  The quarter trim piece matches perfectly but the windlace is way off.  The color is way to green and texture isn't close at all.  Any body try the Drake or stuff from TMI.

Do you have a Dearborn car by chance ? I understand the new Drake windlace is a match for the San Jose style.

Yes I do, I called NPD to find out the manufacturer.  I've never heard of the company.  The photo on the TMI web site looks pretty close, but so hard to tell on the computer.

Thanks for the link it sounds like there was a variety of patterns and probably colors in some cases.  I will have to try some from a different supplier.  I will try to get a close up photo of my existing windlace for anybody else that runs into this.

You're welcome.  :)  A picture of your existing windlace would be be great for reference purposes.
