Stymied by the trunk lock housing pad, I moved on to the parking lamps.... and I'm not too happy about that fit either! At one part of the assembly, the pad is much higher than the chrome trim (pics 1&3), but then there is a section where it is lower than the trim (pics 2&4), which would allow the chrome piece to make contact with the paint. It just looks like a bad fit altogether :(
Any ideas or suggestions?
Getting frustrated,
Kelley

I believe there is a right and left pad. Are you sure you have the right one on the right side? Mine fit pretty good. NOS service replacements.

Original/NOS pads are a bit softer than the repro stuff. Also, go ahead and try tightening down the housing more.

Yes, I've got the correct pad for the correct lamp body. Also, there is an index so that you can't install it incorrectly. I bought these from Virginia Classic Mustang, But I think I'll take my body over the hill to the local mustang shop and see if their pads fit the same.

I'll try and snug down the side that is pooching (technical term) out some, but I'm not wanting to tighten the other side and jack up the new paint
