Hello all.
Couldn't find this topic using the search function so here we go.
To the best of my knowledge, '69 and early '70 Mustangs did not have a latch on the console lid. The latch with push button release exiting the driver
side main body of the console was added at some point during the '70 production year.
At what point did Dearborn make the change adding the latch?
Thanks for your help!!

My September 26, 1969 car hasn't got a latch.

Charlie,
Thank you. I'm thinking that my 11/10/'69 build date is likely close to the change timing but hoping that more will respond
to help clarify. Thanks again!!

None of mine have a latch, but my December build car did not have the original console.
My November build ginger interior has no a latch and a ribbed lid. The others have flat lids.
Edit to note latch on November ginger car.

Thanks Carl. I appreciate the feedback.

Don't thank me yet! I was going from memory and when I got home I looked and my November built ginger interior mach does have a latch. I remembered correctly that the lid is the 3-ribbed variety whereas the others are indeed flat and latchless.
