Title: Removing schultz under coat

What is the best way to remove Shultz ,sprayed the stuff on 20 yrs ago,was the thing to do back then for a driver,now I want it off to paint the bottom. 65FB Dearborn.John

Using a Heat Gun and Scraper works but is slow going. You can also try grinding it off but will gum up the works if too much friction heat is generated.

Possibly, removing a few pieces and submerging them in various solvents; Lacquer Thinner, Denatured Alcohol, Shellac Thinner, etc. and maybe Liquid Paint Remover to see if any have an affect on the Schutz, will be helpful. Be careful though, I have no idea if a sudden reaction may take place.

Thought of something else. Have you contacted the manufacturer for any recommendations they may have?

IF you do this make sure you explain to them if your attempting to leave the paint layers below or looking to strip everything

Might be two different answers
