Title: Cowl to Inner Fender Brace Tubes
Post by: bryancobb on May 09, 2010, 01:10:37 PM
On my 66 convt...  What hardware is supposed to be used at the front end of the two diagonal tube braces that go from the cowl to the R and L inner fenders.  One was off the car and the other had an original bolt with star washer frm the inside of the engine compartment, but inside the wheelwell it had A SQUARE THREADED PLATE about1.75" square.  I don't think this is correct.  Well I guess I found the answer...My Osborne book shows the square plate to be correct.  Does anyone have one, I'm missing one?

If you can't find someone that has one, would be relatively easy to fabricate since you have one to use as a pattern.
