Title: Any way of preserving or restoring the label on the seat belt?
Post by: tvor on July 14, 2015, 12:49:27 PM
Does anyone know of a way to repair, restore, or preserve the labels on the seatbelt?  I figure the top one in my attached pic is a goner, but I would like to try and preserve the other one.

Thanks for the help!
Kelley

You might give Stewart at Python http://www.pythonrestoration.com/ a call and see if he has that label and what he would charge to sew a new one on your belts. He had "some" a while back. The last I heard, SSnake-Oyl does not have any more.

What recommendations are there for restoring the seatbelts in general, that's on my list of things to do.
I know of Ssnake-oyl (see the ads), are they good, is someone better, how long does it take, how much?
And now I have to look at my belts to see if the label is still there.

Snake Oyl did mine 18 years ago and they still look like they did in 1997. They provide a high quality service. Seems like it took them about 4 weeks to complete. They replaced the webbing, tags and refinished the buckles and painted the latches.

I highly recommend them.

I've been asking (emailing) both Ssnake-oyl and Python Restoration for a couple of months now if they are able to do my complete set. No response from either.

I have my belts at Python and Sterwart can be difficult to communicate with at times but he does do great work. In my experience you just have to try several times by both email and phone.

Stewarts father was having some medical issues either late last year or early this year and he was not accepting more work at the time. Guess that situation has changed.

There were a couple of weeks when Stewart was pre-occupied. He was very apologetic when he got back to work about his pre-occupation.

I think he had very good reason to be pre-occupied. I'm not complaining, but if he is back in business, will he take my business? Ssnake-oyl has not responded to me at all.
