Sunlight Yellow with red interior. Data-plate looks a little funny but has the original owner's card:

Unusual combo, not bad tho. Maybe it was an Oscar-Meyer corporate vehicle? ;D
-
Unusual combo but it works, looks like a straight lookin' car, confident that's not the original VIN plate and neither are the rivets.

Pardon me - Have you any Gray Poupon?
-
Might be something someone created to get attention. Seen this allot in other makes and models (model T's and A's for example)
Have seen some originally order blue and red combinations in the past though :o
If not interesting combo

VIN plate looks legit, has one of those overlay decals.

I've seen quite a few vintage imports sporting red interiors with predominately blue exteriors. I have seen them with yellow and even green body colors as well.

Weird. I never even knew a decal was available. I'm guessing the availability of Kevin Marti's data plates made those decals obsolete?

Interesting, what do you make of the riviets?
-
The rivets look like they came from my "rivet stash". There may have had a sale at the local hardware store.

Have to agree since the owners card information matches

I'm finding this thread very riveting. (sorry I had to) What should the proper rivets, on that particular car, look like? Do you think the plate was removed for paint work then reattached?

Big difference there. Thank you.

Gentlemen,
If you are restoring a car that doesn't have a door tag, what's the best source to get one that looks correct?
I've seen Virginia Mustang makes replacement data plates as well as correct style rivets, but I haven't seem them or know if they pass muster.
-
va mustang does not make the tags. they come from marti auto works. and yes they will pass muster.
-
Not a Mustang, but there is a '69 Camaro, in our area, with a Hugger Orange exterior and yellow houdstooth interior.
-
I love those double F code cars. Does MCA deduct points for a repro door tag, or for an original that is hard to read?

............ Does MCA deduct points for a repro door tag, or for an original that is hard to read?
In Concours Trailered or Concours Driven, no
Currently this goes or either the reproduction or the worn original as long as its a good reproduction and things match
