Title: C5OE-8505-B cast iron water pump
Post by: priceless on August 26, 2015, 03:18:45 PM
Are these C5OE-B pumps really that hard to find? I believe Bob Mannel, but didn't know these cast iron pumps were that rare.

It is my understanding that these pumps are rare. I happen to have one that I just had rebuilt.

They are rare, but kind of a narrow time in production that they were used so can't imagine there are a lot of buyers.  Ebay sometimes is an easy button for some that don't have the time to search through Carlisle/Columbus and places like that.

I wouldn't go to Carlisle or Columbus to search for one if I could find it online and have it shipped to me. The price for the one on Ebay above isn't to bad either. I wonder what the C60E pumps bring?

I'm not sure what they "bring", but here is an "asking" number:  $450.00

Keep in mind that the C5 cast iron pump was only used for a few months before being replaced by the C6 pump which went on to be used for 2 full years !! That translates into 100's of thousands more pumps in circulation. The C6 pump although hard to find to is still much more available then the C5 cast iron pump. The high availability has it's effect on price because the C6 pump typically sells for significantly less compared to the C5 cast iron pump.
