Title: 67(NJ built) original rear view identification
Post by: socalgt on September 08, 2015, 03:55:58 PM
I have two rear view mirrors.  I'm assuming one is original, the other not.  One has a small raised dot on center bottom of the black frame, the other does not.  Also, the one with the dot seems to be a bit thinner in areas.  I believe the one with the dot to be original because the stem with the hole that holds to the frame with the screw is flatter, a bit narrower and fits better into the bracket stem.

Do both have the same type of day night knob?

The knob on one is a smaller diameter on the end.  Looks  like the grain/texture is  different.  The main thing I noticed, as I mentioned, is that the tab on one is not as thin as the other and doesn't want to fit in the tab with the screw...the bracket is original, so I assume the one with the larger diameter knob that fits better is the original one.

WCCC has some info on mirrors, and explains the variations for '67:
