Title: Seam sealer inside trunk -wheel houses, etc
Post by: 68JCode on May 18, 2010, 09:28:17 PM
What is the best product to duplicate the seam sealer around the wheel houses inside the trunk?  The product from the factory looked more like sprayed on Schutz texture in these areas, but only along the seam (1" wide or so?

'68 Fastback SJ assembly.

Thanks,

Andrew

You can use the same heavy build up products you would use on the rear wheelwells or on the trunk side of the rear quarterpanels

I've used a sound insulator product others like Wurth or similar stuff

Original examples I have show a pass of product much wider than 1" but it would differ from day to day - worker to worker at that plant, that year

Google and watch the application video for LORD FUSOR 805 and 804.  You'll be amazed!

the fusor or the 3m version mentioned above works the best, need special applicator gun that sometime jobbers rent out

That SPECIAL GUN is THE SECRET to perfect results!  They are on Ebay for $175.
