Title: glass casting marks
Post by: macdude67 on May 25, 2010, 08:14:01 PM
I am curious about when did Ford start tooling up and actually start making parts for Mustang assembly line production. I was taking a look at the glass on a 13 March assembly date on a 64.5 convertible and the passenger quarter window had a 3M date code which is December of 1963..

Believe there have been date codes on pre-production cars as far back as July '63, which I believe were parts carried over from Falcons.  I'm sure there is a wide scattering of parts from Fall of '63 with higher concentration in the December-February time frame.  Guess it depends on when the car was made, if it was pre-production or not and also which part it was as there were variations in early parts as they were modified to fit/function properly.
