Title: Eaton Power Steering Pump
Post by: Hawkeye on December 10, 2015, 01:19:23 PM
Can't find anything referencing the color of the Eaton pump.  Search only brought up 2 mentions of it.
I think it was silver, or just aluminum when I got the car in '86, but don't know how much was done previously, other than a few repaints (of different colors that I found as I was stripping it down for a better repaint), and an engine rebuild.

the eaton pump should be semi-gloss black. the resevoir is argent.

OK, I don't have the 2 piece since no AC, so the whole thing should be black, including the cap?

This is someone else's picture, but this is what I have, and what I remember it looking like years ago.

looks pretty good to me. the cap on the resevoir is zinc. the bolt is also zinc. no black on the resevoir.

OK, now I understand what you were saying about the pump/reservoir.  I should re-specify that I'm asking about the reservoir, cuz I was confused and was thinking THAT was the pump.  Took some triple-quadruple checking of the picture and what you were saying, but now I got it.
Thanks.
Any recommendations for the argent paint?

most major vendors carry it in a spray can. try virginia classic mustang.

Cool, wouldn't have thought about the vendors.  Gotta keep that in mind for the future.  Thanks.
