Title: 67 rear spring U bolts

What would be the correct finish for the rear spring U bolts  for a 67 Metuchen built car Rear is a 9".

Natural, but I would do a phosphate and oil treatment to keep them from rusting.

Natural - so I would clean and redo the surface with the gun bluing - Light finish applied and worked out with steel wool them oiled ;)
