Title: original 67 SJ undercarriage - March 67
Post by: ruppstang on January 10, 2016, 11:41:09 AM
I am restoring a 67 SJ coupe built 5-11-67. I put it on the stand for cleaning and was surprised how original the undercarriage still was. It has been in storage for the last 30 years. I thought the pictures may help someone build a car from that time in SJ.

Sorry everyone someone else took these with their cell phone and sent them to me. I did not realize that they would be so small ,were fine when I opened them on the computer. The car is in their paint shop for paint. Next trip down there I will retake them.

Here are some better pictures from today. This is not a concours project but after cleaning up the undercarriage I just can not cover up all of the originality of this car so I decided to coat it with clear POR15 to stop the rust and preserve the looks. I thought it looked pretty good after we finished.

Gotta love those original floor cars, I know even the scrapes, dents and such I have on mine, I am much more pleased knowing most original aspects can be easier duplicated. I like how nice this looked once you coated it. (understanding your goals with this project)
