Is there any situation where a Mach 1 with 351C had the 27F battery verse the 24F?
-
Yes, my understanding is that a '70 Mach 1 351C with A/C would have had the Group 27 battery.

428 CJ buildsheet that I have show a type "AF" battery installed in those cars. With and without AC Believe the "AF" is the group 27 battery.
351's from 1970 with AC show a "AD" battery being installed in cars with AC . Also installed in some non AC cars so likely the "up graded" battery choice that year and that application
Hope this helps

Thanks for the info. Helpful in sorting this out.

When I purchased my 70 Mach1 351C 4 speed car in 9/73, non AC which I still own today {unrestored} it had a group 27 battery in it. I believe it was the original battery as the car only had 19,000 miles on it. The battery still worked great in 1977 till I accidentally left the glove box open for over a week. It roached the battery. Wonder how much longer it would have lasted had I not had that misfortune ?
