Removed an original rear brake line from a 67 the other day. Thought someone might enjoy the pictures. Something we would expect to see on a T-bred I suppose. C7ZA-2A448-B

We would expect to see a fresh one on a T-bred. I had heard David Davis was reproing single crimp 67 rear brake hoses.

I dug mine out as the rear axle restoration is looming.
Mine is still in one piece and the hose is still good.
The hose has broken stripes (not continuous) in maybe white, yellow or?
The reverse of the hose has numbers I can't make out.
The finish is dichromate on the bracket and then moves to a brass junction.
The hose crimp on that end appears to brass as well. Or is it worn off cad or dichromate?
I believe the hose crimp connection at the body is supposed to be cad or dischromate too.
Keep and refurbish or find another?

Keep and refurbish is my opinion. It still looks nice. FYI all bass at junction. Zinc dichromate on other end.

here two more examples of rear axle brake hose I removed from my cars.
The first one (with date code 07 11 6) came of a 28k miles San Jose Nov 66 S-code and the second one (date code 11 04 7) from a 45k miles Dearborn May 67 S-code.
Note that both car were fully functional and there was no leakage at the time I replaced the brake hoses. These were replaced as precautionary measure since I drive the cars.

You have to carefully unstake the brass junction from the bracket to properly plate.

There are instances where the hose swells on the inside and either reduces or cuts off the flow of fluid I ran across this once on another make and the hose didn't appear to have any issues visually.

Blowing air through the hose will determine if a significant blockage or not . Best to do this prior to spending time on restoration.

Yeah, that was fun. But it worked! It should go back with little issue. I had never considered unstaking, but hey. I have a new skill.
As far as internal swelling, my issue was that this fitting has been sitting for many years and it's a collector of dried up brake fluid and dirt (on the body side) which was left open. A few pokes and it's clear.
