Hi Everyone,
I know the Visibility Group in 65 contains the following features:
- Remote Mirror
- Day / Night Mirror
- 2-Speed Electric Wipers
Does the Visibility Group always contain all 3 features? My July 65 Metuchen built factory GT (with standard interior) has the '66 style day/night mirror (which is factory original not a repro) and 2-speed electric wipers. However there is no indication that the car ever had a remote mirror. Since I wasn't aware that you could order the day/night mirror and 2 speed wipers separately I was wondering how the car could be equipped in that manner.
The buck tag also does not denote "RM" so it wasn't equipped with a remote mirror from the factory. The 2 speed wiper switch is a OEM / Ford stamped part and the car always had the 2-speed wiper wiring harness to the washer pump so there is no obvious sign it wasn't original to the car. Clearly the mirror could have been swapped out for a OEM piece at any point since that's so easy to do. Thoughts?
Regards,
Ron

Are you confident that your driver's side door is original?

Yes - I'm extremely confident that the driver's door is original - door tag / warranty plate was affixed with factory style rivets and the overspray pattern under the interior trim panel matched the body color and primer elsewhere in the car. Given the buck tag doesn't indicate RM I highly doubt it came from the factory with a remote mirror. All of the other options PIO, AIR COND etc. are referenced on the buck tag since it's a NJ built car.

The buck tag on my July 65 Metuchen coupe with visibility group does not have the RM code, but my build sheet lists "2" in the mirror section. As an aside, it seems like many late 65s have the visibility group option.

I just checked my build sheet and the mirror section is blank.
