Title: 67 C4 automatic, console shift gear selector lever grooves
Post by: socalgt on June 03, 2016, 07:22:05 PM
I went to install the neutral safety switch and found the shaft where it should mount has no grooves for it.  I understand it must be for a manual transmission, although the lever points up. ( I thought on a manual it points down).  I'm assuming that replacing it with the correct, original, complete unit(outer and inner shafts, with the grooves) is all I need to do to put it back to original and install the neutral safety switch.  I have to say, the PO sure has caused me a lot of work correcting various things...from wiring to items such as this.

I replaced the shaft with the correct, original for an automatic and installed the neutral safety switch.
