Title: 67 fastback upper side vent installation
Post by: 67gta289 on July 26, 2016, 09:52:50 PM
The body assembly manual does not show anything between the outer vent and the body.  I'm not concerned about leaks, because of the drain pan and hose, but I am concerned about paint on paint stress/chipping.  Is there a natural gap based on the overall design of the complete assembly?  Should I add something (body caulk?). Or just bolt it up?  Thanks John

John I have put several together and have never used any calk or sealant. I have never had any paint issues, use common sense on tightening the fasteners.
Others may have had different experiences.

Possibly the attached from the "Weld/ Sealant Assembly Manual may help.

+1  leaks are why there is a drainage system built into the body design ;)
