Is there anything that commonly needs to be fixed on reproduction doors? Are they detectable for concours judging once paint and interior panels on?
-
Never used repo doors - do they sell 70 doors and 69 doors separately or one fits both?
-
69--70 is the same door.

69--70 is the same door.
Could be a reason for not using the reproduction - originally they both were not the same

I know I'm going to get put on a time out for this, but its easy to drill holes and dimple the metal where needed to make them look the same. :-)
My passenger door is a repo, it replaced a bondo filled doner door. It did not have the hole for the door wiring/grommet, but I made one. I will have to do a close inspection/comparison and get back to you on my findings. Got the Dynacorn door from NPD (https://www.npdlink.com/store/products/mustang_door_shell_repro_rh-103520-481.html). I did have to use a little filler to make is totally smooth on the leading and bottom edges though.

Just have to be aware that the differences are there first ;)
So your reporting that they fashioned/patterned the reproduction doors from one of the suppliers from a 69 example? Or at least the maker of the door you purchased. Your body work skills are likely better than mine- I would fight like heck trying to get the fairly sharp edge and curvature in the inner door without messing up something else :o
If you modifying one to the other you'll also need to concern yourself (besides the different shape shown in the other thread for the 70 Mach I molding and the three large holes) with the edge of the outer lip as shown below. Either adding or removing based on what ever they did with the reproductions.
69 Passenger example on left - 70 Drivers on right

You forgot to include this part when you quoted me:

Drivers side repo door.

Drivers side repo door.
Thanks so what I'm seeing in this small area of the edge is a 70 style inner door and an outer edge shaped like neither (would need modification) 69 or 70

My NPD repro door (https://www.npdlink.com/store/products/mustang_door_shell_repro_rh-103520-481.html).

Must be a different vendor. 69 style inner door and an outer edge shaped like neither (would need modification) 69 or 70
Thanks for sharing and for both of you - sending out a bunch of people to check to see what is on their car :)
