Title: U Code Mustang/ 64 Falcon cooling fan
Post by: DJames on June 29, 2010, 10:20:11 AM
Was the pulley and the cooling fan on a U code Mustang the same as what was used on a 64 Falcon that came with the 170 six cylinder? Thanks.

Single sheave water pump pulley for 170 Mustang and Falcon was C0DE-8509-A, 5.60" outer diameter, 1.86" depth, .628" inner diameter, .38" sheave.

Cooling fan for a 170 Mustang was C2DZ-8600-B, 4 blades, 15.5" dia
Cooling fan for a 170 Falcon was C1VV-8600-D, 4 blades, 17.5" dia

Above are for no A/C, no P/S or no extra cooling.

Cool. Thanks, Charles. That will be very useful. Interesting how the Mustang fan has a Falcon casting number, and, the Falcon fan has, if I'm not mistaken, a Lincoln casting number. Ford did stranger things than that, though.  :)
