Title: 69 window regulator id
Post by: RocketScientist on October 10, 2016, 08:01:06 AM
How can you tell the difference between 69 window regulators used with glue in and bolt in glass? Are there any specific part numbers that can identify them?
I was trying to buy window regulators for my 70 but ended up with what I suspect are 69 regulators. It has a part number: 6523220 SY.
The joys of buying used parts.....

There are differences between the regulators and I will try to explain.
Both window regulators have two long arms.
One is geared and the other free.
When you look at the end of the long free moving arm you will see another small arm that is attached now if you look at the other end of this long arm the differences between the regulators can be seen:
69 glue in glass regulators have a step.
70 bolt in glass regulators are straight.

West Coast Classic Cougar has a video that details the differences - skip ahead to time 38:00 or so.  He points out the regulator arm difference as well.
