Dissembling the front half of the motor to reseal the water pump and the clutch fan does not want to budge off of the water pump. Any suggestion on how to remove it? The pump is still sitting on the car as I cannot get the top bolt out of the AC pulley adjustment because the water pump pulley is in the way....

Hmm. There must be some corrosion on the water pump shaft. Penetrating oil might eventually do the trick but soaking for several days may be the only effective way with that approach. With any other approach, the difficulty would be in not doing any damage to the clutch or adjoining pulley. It seems the least aggressive way may be using a very thin spatula style putty knife at the seam, a putty knife that the blade runs all the way through the handle would have the most impact. This method may scratch paint on the pulley but using a light tapping on the tip of the handle, then rotating the water pump & pulley in 90 degree progressions, should walk it out. Patience will be a virtue ;)

+1 on that. there is a tab that extends out a half inch or so which is probably causing your issue. Oil and maybe a few taps with a hammer will loosen up a little. I believe i had a similar issue when i freshened up my 289 a couple years back.I found a picture of my engine with the pulley off that shows that tab that is probably giving you some corrosion trouble.

Penetrating oil and try grabbing the fan clutch by the shaft closest to the pulley and rock up and down. Rotating a bit at a time.

I don't know about corrosion since I just installed that pump and fan maybe a year ago. But will try the putty knife and see what happens along with some oil.

I'd really give it a good soak with penetrating oil before taking the putty knife to it. I tried the putty knife on mine and just ended up marring and chipping the fan mount. Penetrating oil and patience. Mine was on less than a year. I think the heat cycles rather than corrosion baked mine on. It has never gotten wet and was really stuck on there. Took days of penetrating oil and gentle tapping to finally pop it off
