Two questions:
1. Are these two nuts correct for an October 2 '64 San Jose fastback air extractor assembly?
2. If correct nuts, how and where may I procure a bunch (14 of the one piece style and 8 of the two piece)?
Thanks!

A quick answer, not available. Look in the library under Mustang Hardware Spreadsheet 64-66.,

AMK doesn't sell these under "nuts - stamped machine thread" for the one on the left? There are several from page 69-71 but I don't know what the dimensions are to provide a part #

Jim,
Thank you for sharing the Mustang Hardware spreadsheets - they're quite handy and shows a lot of work went into them.
I noticed the '65s had a count of 28 flat stamped nuts but '66 had 20. I didn't think the '65s had more unless they double nutted the baffles?
At any rate, it seems the going rate for air extractor assemblies on Craigslist in California is $500 for beat up incomplete units - ouch.

I just found this while hunting for the air extractor assemblies I found the following hardware kit from CJ Pony Parts:
Part Number F-2934 (http://"http://www.cjponyparts.com/65-6-air-vent-grilles-f-b-outside-52-hardware-only-1965-1966/p/F2934/")
It looks close enough for the daily driver. Much better than what I was facing which was raiding the bins at Home Depot...

The CJ kit is actually an AMK kit (52 pieces, $24), and I forgot about the AMK kit. I do remember that there was a difference in the nuts in the AMK kit, washer diameter I think. For a driver, it may be exactly what you need.
