Post by: Jerry on August 03, 2010, 03:24:53 PM
Hi guys

Here is a picture of my rear drums can you please tell me what is
incorrect for a 65 K Code San Jose car? I can not find proper pictures
anywere. Somebode told me that the K book facts about the rear
drums is inacurate and i do not know.

So please hit me!

I don't mean this to sound rude, but it would be easier to tell you what is right than what is wrong.  Your yellow spring looks correct as well as the alignment bar and parking brake lever.  Everything else is incorrect to varying degrees.

If you can wait a week or so, I plan to restore the brakes on the K convertible and can provide pics.  I do have some pics of Mike Murray's Unrestored cars also.

Hi Charles

No that is ok. You have to admit it is very hard to see pictures of how
it should look like. But i´m willing to learn and would be happy to see
the pictures of your brakes.
By the way where did you get the information from?

Thanks Jerry

Observing original parts and Unrestored cars.  Thankfully, I had a few sets of originals for the K convertible I'm doing (although there is no difference with other V8's).  Those, along with some NOS parts and I should be able to put together a highly accurate setup of fronts and rears.
