Title: Difference 69/70 Drum brake Spindles
Post by: Jerry on August 23, 2010, 04:45:19 PM
Hi guys

Beside date codes of course what are the differences in those spindles
comparing the 69 to the 70??? Is there something different or are they the
same? Material different?? Only drum brake spindles i´m talking about.

Thanks Jerry

The 70 spindle is thicker.  It'll use a 13/16"-20 nut versus 3/4"-16.  The bearings and races are also different to match the thicker material.  The tie rod hole is also larger diameter.
Then there is also the 65-69 replacement spindle that used the larger bearing sizes but had the smaller tie rod hole.
