While not Concours correct, it’s good to know there are options. It appears Motorcraft is still supplying the starter solenoid under a new number. Previous numbers were SW 3 and B6AZ-11450-A. The new Motorcraft number is SW 7663 and is marked (pictured) D2AF-11450-A. Price is pretty reasonable at $20 to $40.
Source of information is eBay.

Unfortunately for the purpose of this site - its not even an option IMHO . Though they are are likely almost as good (visually) as some reproductions and optionally superior so are later model carburetors, high torque starters and many other optionals

While not Concours correct for most, I would think it might be an option for 72/73.

Would be nice to see what the current posts, nuts and hardware was used so it could be compared. From the angle you posted the font is different from original appears to be missing the makers mark and lacking the sealant we find on on originals. Just going by the pictures I have of originals
IF the other details check out it might get someone by if whom ever is looking at it doesn't know their details

I have switched to the D2 solenoid on my driven cars after hearing the horror story's of the re pop solenoids sticking open and doing much damage.

Yes that has been an issue. But always have been able to find originals, clean them up and reuse them considering they were placed on millions of cars

Years ago, like in 2013 ~before joining this forum...I also bought a D2 version because of the stories circulating of the reproduction ones sticking. I was thinking of how to best restore my original one or steal parts from a reproduction one to build one from the D2 as a donor for reliable parts...
As many have heard, I installed my restored engine into my project last weekend. What I hadn't shared, was various issues that surfaced when I went to start it...the PRIMARY issue was that my brand new, right out of the box D2 solenoid stuck on the very first cranking and stuck about every third time afterwards.
I bought another D2 from my local Ford Dealership and wasn't impressed with the "CONTENTS MADE IN CHINA" stamping on the box but I put in on anyways and, lo and behold...it also stuck 2 out of 2 tries.
I hunted up my old +200,000-mile C7 version an viola! It works perfectly every try!

That has been my experience as well. That is why I restore the originals.

Along with factory coils I think these two are the most common restored and reused parts other than body panels and driveline parts on our cars.
Millions of cars used the same coils and solenoid so there will likely be sources for all of us to find a few
