Title: Strange Axle tag # on door tag ?

Hey Guys,
 I was wondering why my 65 Coupe, 6 cylinder auto has a "2" stamped for the axle code ?
 It doesn't come up in the online decoders any ideas ?

my book shows a 2.83 rear axle ratio.

Dan you need to get a new  decoder ring :)  Mine shows the same - 2.83 ratio

Funny things about decoder books and online services. They often use other decoders to build the sites or assemble the book - repeating mistakes and oversights as they go. 67 with "O" rearend codes was one of the more typical ones that got overlooked by allot of them years back

So not so much of a mystery, as just poor web-sight "decoders".
