Hi,
Is there a way to tell if a Hipo fender emblem is original or a reproduction. I don't see any numbers on the back. Ive see some that have painted back between the checkered flags and some not?
Thanks

I just looked at a couple NOS ones and used originals and they do not have numbers on them. Originals are polished anodized aluminum with the black lettering and black recesses on the checker boards. Reproductions are usually a heavier chrome plated pot metal or some other type of metal. I am not aware of any aluminum reproductions but I could be wrong. Paul

Yes. When you compare an original to a repop, there are obvious differences in some of the HIGH PERFORMANCE letters and also how they line up with the checkered flags

Originals usually have 'FOX CO' or something like that on the back.

Wow Thank you all for the great info!

Another simple way to tell when it is attached to the car is the top row of the flag is not square like the other rows.
White car version is a repo, burgundy is OEM
