Title: Early 64.5 vert rescued from yard
Post by: DKutz on June 30, 2018, 08:42:12 PM
Spent the day pulling this convertible out of my friends yard.  Trying to get it running and ready to sell.  Pretty cool early car.  Got it to turn over, but not fired...yet.  Anyone need a new project?

Looks like its got the early console dial and plate. Not easy parts to find if you need them

Pictures and condition is going to make the easterners jealous

Rust?  It has some, but it's not a salt roads car

We never see a car that nice here on the east coast.

why does this car not have a turned down hood?  Is it just hit and miss for this like everything else.?

Also someone mentioned on another forum that this is a EARLY 71 DSO  LA car.  Does anyone know if this is true?

Would guess that its just a replacement for the original. Not unusual for the cars age. Hood seems to show a base red paint job under the current one

The door tag shows a projected build date of 30C (Mar 30th)

I think the hood is original.  The poppy red is the original color.  I will look for a date code next time I go over.

The hood on the first couple months didn’t have the turn out edges.  Date code will confirm.

Some more pictures added to my album today, including some more underneath and under dash cowl area.  Some rust but really not bad.
