I installed a new hood to radiator support seal yesterday. The original one had only five (5) staples holding it to the radiator support. Is this normal? I installed all the staples in the original holes. It seems like it needs more of them.
I searched this site for photos and came up with this one of an original SJ Metuchen built car with maybe twice as many staples!

Here's mine (off brand solenoid and battery cable installed for electrical testing):

If that's all your car had, then that's all that is needed.

Normal? Have examples of others (68 Dearborn) with 5 and up to 7. Or if the stapler didn't work only three electrical clips to hold it in place like we see on 69's built there

Its going to have the five and that's all! I did the same thing on all the splash shields, re - using all the existing holes. There were some wild staples that didn't even connect with both the rubber and the splash shields. Apparently the worker was stapling and doing something else at the same time, perhaps talking about baseball or beer LOL!
