We are talking "Spacer - Windshield Outside Belt Moulding" part# C7ZZ-6503150-A, quantity 4 per vehicle, right? References attached.
I'm in need some also, so will be watching.
-
Haven't seen these on the 65-66 cars. The lower moldings, I know on at least 65's, don't have the notch on the bottom. The Ford service replacement molding usually has the notches, although it still carried a C5ZZ part number.

Yes, those are the ones

Interesting...
What else is interesting is that ONLY A REPLACEMENT USED MOLDING I intended to use on my car had just one, my original lower molding HAD NONE.
Now, are we having yet ANOTHER running change????
ALSO: Notice the PART NUMBER! It is C7ZZ-6303150-A which has a "63" in it, so is this a "fastback ONLY" detail? on edit C7ZZ-6503150-A

That was my typo - it is a 65 number
-
I can also add that I've not seen them on any 67 I've worked on. But I can't say that the windshields have never been replaced before I worked on them.
-
I don't recall seeing those used on any 65-68 or on any used molding

Seen these on 67/68.

I had just one that arrived to me on a USED molding. I now see where two each side can be inserted (like what John's illustration depicts).
If we can confirm I SHOULD NOT USE THEM, it would then be as it was when I took my car apart. Like John said though, my windshield had been out several times under my watch and unknown if before me for the first 10-11 years.
-
I don't recall ever seeing 67-8 cars without them, so I would think your car should have them.
-
I looked, and was unable to find any used ones either.
1969-70 has something similar, also easily lost.
-
It is a tough part to find because the first time the windshield was out of the car they were lost. I also think if they were snagged with a rag while washing the car they would come out. I have them on a couple of our cars.
Richard I have seen them on 67s.

I do not remember making a post to that thread. I guess that I have seen them. Duh!

The Metuchen built August 11th 1967 build date (last day of 67 production) car I just took apart for paint had all four still intact on the lower moulding. Most 67 68 San Jose cars I have taken apart have them. There is a guy on eBay that sells repros of them in many different sizes for many different Ford cars. You will have to come up with measurments to match up the specific size as he does not list them by car model, just size. Good luck! Paul

I have searched and only found some blue ones that are different measurements.
Pictures attached for sizes. Any help locating a few appreciated.
A close look at this San Jose unrestored car seems to suggest they are on it too (enlarge image if needed)

Then we have this NJ example:

Used on 67 and 68. I’ve never found more than one per side. Probably the first time a car went through a car wash most of them blew out as they were only there for protection when the fender was installed. Serve no purpose after car was assembled so there was not a need to make them permanent

I just removed an original windshield from a Feb 67 San Jose build and found none

My 67 convert has the spacers(4)Dearborn. 69-70 Mustang use 7 similar spacers as 67-68 on lower windshield moldings. Definitely a point deduction on 69-70 concours classes( THB & Unrestored) if missing.
