Title: 69/70 Shelby license plate lights
Post by: 69GT350H on September 30, 2018, 07:12:16 PM
Looking for the correct light bulb for the pair of plate lights. I had one of the two, but seem to have misplaced it while I was researching what type it is, as mine had no markings on it.

Seems to be a "ba15d" base, single element. I have a GE 1004 that has the correct base, but the glass bulb is larger and the bulb is much brighter.

The first place you should look is the good ole owners manual. ;)  Page 46 list two license plate lights in this case. They are 4 candle power.  #97 is the trade name identification. Hopefully you have a 69 or 70 owners manual in your glove box or console to answer other questions that may come up in the future.

Following up on this thread after trying to locate a 1178 bulb.   Per a cross reference chart,  i finally used a sylvania bulb number 90  successfully for my license plate light bulbs.   69/70 shelby
