Title: Front Bumper Brackets - Outer Arm Insulators

Can anyone clarify what type of hose Ford used on the front bumper struts to protect them from marking and rattling in the opening on the front valance of a 1970 mustang.
I thought they where heater hose but it does not look that way as the heater hose has reinforcement in the rubber where the strut protectors do not, although they do seem to have the same strips molded into them as the heater hose, but the heater hose has a smaller bore and thicker wall.

I have found that the drain hose from the earlier years fastback vent assemblys is a thin wall design almost identical.

Thanks Bob, which drain hose as I am not familiar with that item, can I look it up somewhere or do you have a picture?

Looking at all the years they used these insulators have seen a number of different supplier markings and even shapes though the round versions appear to be the vast majority. As Bob mentioned the 65 unreinforced fastback quarter vent drains  but those can be more difficult to find than just original used ones from another 69 or 70. Believe they are both the same length though must admit that I've never compared the two side by side.

Just have to find someone that took the time to remove and same a couple since these are big movers/sellers and often get over looked.

Guess some (especially some engineers) might take issue with the use of strut so adjusted the title so it reflects that the discussion is about the insulator with a slight adjustment to the other words.
