Hi I am looking for recommendations on who to use to restore my 65 std seatbelts. Latch is in good condition but webbing is faded.
Thanks

Use Python. Stewart does good work., Snake oil takes too long, doesn't have all the labels, and is more expensive.

Stewart had mine when his father passed away, so I can not count the time he took against him. Family first. But he did a fantastic job. The returned product looks brand new, and with proper date stampings. He was good with his communications as well.

Agreed. Stewart did mine for me and I'm very pleased with the results and the turn-around time.

Is Python now operating at full speed? How about Snake-Oyl?
I just looked at the belts in the Shelby and forgot one of the inertia reels no-workie.
Either vendor do that too?
What's the ballpark cost to do all of a 67 Shelby? Is one preferred over the other for these Y belts, Cobra stickers and reels?

Snake-Oyl does not repair 67 Shelby inertia reels . Python does. Sorry I have no insight on operating status. In the past there was a substantial difference in originality between Python's favorable restored belt vs Snake-Oyl. Admittedly it has been several years since I have been able to see a comparison first hand.

Stewart is slow, does not always respond to your email inquiries, but does great work.

Again, it took a long time to get them back, but I am very happy with the look and the quality.
Guessing I had them done 2016-2017.

Thanks for the pics. My Shelby button labels look better, but the rest looks oh so familiar.

Part of the cost depends on what you send him. In my case, I sent all the hardware, and it was in fairly good shape. The inertia reels worked, just needed a little cleaning. Latches were not damaged and still operated correctly. Stewart was able to read the date code off at least one of the labels and used that to re-create all the labels. So the entire set, front, rear, and shoulder belts cost me around $1200.00 And again, I am very happy with the product I got back.

A bit on the high end of what I thought, but I can't do it so it is what it is.
Just glad that someone does this at all.
Thanks for sharing.

Does Python use the correct thickness on the webbing? Snake-Oyl does not. They did mine, look great though

The webbing was the correct thickness plus the pattern of the webbing was correct on all of the ones that I have ever had done. That was a issue with snake-oyl not being correct compared to factory and is why I stopped using them.

I just got the belts for my 69 GT350 back from Stewart at Python in October and he did a perfect job, cost me just over $600
The shoulder harnesses and tag were in perfect shape so all he did was clean an dye those and all of my retractors worked fine. Stewart had to re-web the front and rear belts and put new date coded tags on them. Most of my hardware was ok and only had to replace a couple of them along with each one of the buckle surrounds and button decals. Stewart told me it would take several months but I was in no hurry, he did ask if I had a deadline to be ready for a show or something so if you need yours back faster then let him know but don?t expect miracles. If you need something done fast then restoring cars is not for you.
