Title: Shaker Hood Trim Ring Finish

What is the correct finish finish both top and underneath on an original ring?  Pics would be very helpful if you have any to ahare.

I use the original Lacquer that I get thru tcp global.  They will mix the old DDL 9295 in their house brand. It is pricey.  The shaker ring is not the textured black.  Now some like to use a low gloss urethane for durability.
