So the story goes from what I have been able to research from previous owners is that the original owner of the car wanted to buys a Shelby, but the dealership did not have one on the lot so they sold the customer a black GT390 instead by agreeing to put Shelby scoops on the car. I was able to confirm with the second owner that when he purchased the car in the mid seventies that the scoops were on the car. I just removed them and they are different on each side for some reason. The also don't have any Ford markings either. Can anyone identify the scope and confirm if they are correct/original or aftermarket scoops.
I am not sure why the used different scoops on each side and it is odd that the bottom scoops have completely different mounting points and fasteners
Thanks

The passenger side lower appears to be from a 68 Shelby or modified CS scoop and the driver side lower appears to be from a 67 Shelby. What I can see of the upper appears to be genuine 68. You will have to decide how valid the story about the dealer install is.

Thanks Bob. Perhaps one of the lower scoops were changed at some point. I am still in the process of chasing down info/paperwork regarding the claim that the car left the dealership with the scoops installed. So far just verbal confirmation. So it sounds like there was a difference between 67 & 68 lower scoops

Yes,construction technique as the pictures indicate. 68 scoops are injected fiberglass and 67 is not.
