Title: 66 rough change over date for distributer
Post by: Morsel on February 13, 2019, 01:34:42 PM
Hi all, searched the forum and can't find anything, does anyone have an idea of when the change over occurred in 66 from the square FoMoCo logo to the Autolite logo on the distributers? Specifically looking for info on a HiPo C5OF.

Thanks,

Jason

I believe the change over to Autolite on the duelpoint  occurred in early 67 and not 66 .

+1 and because this is a date coded part, it should be easy to confirm

Ok, this helps. I have two and the autolite ones date code is hard to read. How big of a spread in date code for a distributer and the car build dates have you guys seen, the one that I thought was original to the car seems early compared to other dates...

Thanks,

Jason

Looking at the ones I have records of and only looking at 66 production my examples are all either made the same month the engine was cast or the month before that. Did use projected car build dates since they are not as reliable as other dates such as casting, machining or assembly dates for 65-66's
