Title: 68 Dearborn disc brake spindles
Post by: preaction on February 16, 2019, 11:14:44 AM
I found a few past threads about spindle paint marks but nothing specific to Dearborn disk brakes or a late built car, I found this after a soak in evaporust up close the paint is pink would this be typical ? Also were these retainers  painted  SG black too ?

The retainers were bare steel. Many restore them plated zinc silver for better corrosion protection.

Thanks Bob, it had a look of corrosion/condition that led me to think it wasn't painted.

+1

It's going to be hard to scrutinize it once installed though we all here understand that you want to have details correct even though they may go unseen by others - you'll know ;)
