Title: Mexican Mustang Dataplate
Post by: ChrisV289 on February 20, 2019, 01:33:27 PM
Someone on Facebook posted this and was asking on how to decode it. I tried to do a search and couldn’t find anything. Anyone know a good source?

Not currently. A gentleman by the name of David Hammar use to do a registry of the Mexican built cars but it was a one man effort on the internet and he stopped being active maybe ten years ago. Have pictures of maybe a dozen of the car but can't help with all the decoding

The only source of info is the "Mustang Production Guide" which barely acknowledges the existence of "Mexican Mustangs". For 65-66 the book says only Hardtop, only manual transmissions, no power steering, no air conditioning, no power brakes, heaters were optional. Those "options" may have been more "political" than any other reasons.
