Hi. Is there usually an OK marking on valve covers on San Jose cars? Im seeing an O or zero in one of the markings on the original valve covers. Along with a few extra markings i have no clue about. Can i please get some opinions or advice. Cheers

I do not think I have seen a OK on a small block rocker cover. Here is a couple of pictures of a unrestored J code SJ car.

some more pics will be uploaded below. you can see the white adhesive of the paper sticker on the end of the one with less paint. there is quite a bit of yellow on these covers, which is why i am asking about them. From mannels book, these valve covers were a short run with the side mounted spark plug wire support.

Sorry didn't get around to respond to this thread earlier. Like Marty I've got no records, pictures or documentation of an OK mark on a 68 small block. Looking at all of the small blocks (289 + 302 non-Boss) I have pictures of I only found an OK on 70 and up versions. Also the end of the valve cover with the markings (what ever they are) are at the back end of the valve covers rather than where we would expect to find typical markings.
Do have one example from a 68 Torino with a 302 with a yellow dot/daub on the corner of the drivers side valve cover but certainly not an stamp nor the OK as we see used at other engine assembly plants and engines.
