Title: Feb 66 San Jose - K-Code automatic starter differences?
Post by: Morsel on June 10, 2019, 01:34:38 PM
Hey all,

Wondering if there were any differences between a standard V8 automatic starter and a K-Code starter in 66, I know the differences in the cone shape between an automatic and manual transmission cars, but wondering if there were differences between K-Codes and standard V8's.

Also, what are the casting numbers for a San Jose February 66 supposed to be for whatever the starter I should have in the nose cone?

Thanks as always,

Jason

Don't recall any difference between the two applications other than what you mentioned nor reference in any of the parts catalogs or books.

On an engine roller stand next to the shop computer sits the original motor to my 65 A-code fastback. The starter was sitting there so I looked and found it to look like an original, bulbous drive cover starter. I cleaned off the nose piece and here are the numbers.

My 67 also sports a C3 nose, so I believe the C3 is correct.
