Title: 9" Rear Axle Housing "J" Brake Line Tab Replacement
Post by: Snydly289 on August 04, 2019, 11:39:13 PM
Hi all,

I am currently restoring my 65 K 9" axle housing and I need to replace a broken brake line "J" tab keeper. Is there a vendor that makes these weld on tabs like the original or am I going to have to rob one off of another axle housing?

Make one or rob one from another. It is not a common thing to have to be replaced. That is probably the main reason why they are not typically available from main stream vendors.

Another option is to make your own out of standard strip of metal using the other as a pattern. Likely best to drill a hole and plug weld it then grind and dress the surface

Thanks for the replies guys, looks like I'll try to carefully rob one off of my 8" axles in my ever growing "parts pile"
