I came across this battery today is this a service replacement for a 24F ?

I'm not expert on batteries, but it looks like the date molded into the case is May of 68.

It looks like a service replacement for a group 22. 24 is longer. The punch out for the month and year means it is a service battery and not a assemblyline battery. The sticker is typically the only difference all other things being equal .The battery tray is smaller for a car that came equipped with a 22 also. At least in 67 up. 65/66 uses a different hold down bracket to compensate for size.

Thanks Bob not knowing the application of a 21R I thought 24 because of the red caps no mistaking size though.

From 68 up the smaller batteries had red caps evident by what is clearly original on the picture battery. The red cap versions are not seen on the 65-67 22 batteries.

Is this your battery? Are you looking to sell?

Tim, this is mine and only had it for a short time and haven't decided what to do with it yet.
